What is a tandem lift? A tandem lift gives you a much higher lifting capacity than a single crane as well as offering greater stability.

Hiring a mobile crane for any project as a business is important to get right. Here’s our guide on which variables are most important to consider.
When we think of haulage and goods transportation, the image we create for ourselves is often that of a HGV hauling a container or standard flatbed truck with goods strapped to it. However, many goods are simply unable to be transported by such means, and hauliers along with businesses and consumers are often left scratching their heads on how they can get their consignments delivered to them.
Last week Phelan Haulage completed another specialist haul of two Northumberland Hut shepherd style cabins. Click below to see the image gallery of our crane assisted vehicles working together to complete last week’s move.
The latest addition to the Phelan Haulage fleet is out Scania Tractor Unit and Fassi 800 (monster!) Crane. Over-the-cab, 360 lifting.
Our HIAB trucks use a demountable body trailer to become small bodied rigid vehicles – catering for small loads or restricted access sites.
As well as the many scheduled, repeating and one-off tasks Phelan Haulage carriers out on a regular basis, we’re also on hand to assist in abnormal or emergency situations. Scenes like this from the aftermath of Storm Corrie [see gallery below] showing a large fallen tree within an industrial premises, are commonplace after periods of stormy weather here in the UK.
More of the specialist transport of these tall telecoms masts and then installation using our fleet of HIAB vehicles, this time in Brighton and other areas of Southern England. These tasks were again completed by both our DAF XF510 Artic lorry along with Palfinger PK62000 EH crane; as well as our our Volvo FH540 truck combined with a Cormach 65000 E6 crane.
Our Volvo F540 HIAB truck was Scotland bound again this week, with a visit to the famous Murryfield in Edinburgh. Phelan Haulage transported and installed these Guinness mobile bar containers into the fan zone, ahead of the Rugby Autumn Internationals 2021. It is expected that the giants of southern hemisphere rugby – South Africa, New Zealand, Australia and Argentina – will be back touring Europe once again in November 2021.
Working with The Middlesbrough Weekender this week, Phelan Haulage assisted the lifting and transportation of an incredible expensive piece of art. Both of our HIAB trucks worked together to careful move the art installation inside this shipping container.
