International HIAB Services
Phelan Haulage’s international signage transport project for HP brought together European haulage and HIAB crane handling, with the journey taking in Toulouse, the South of France and Milan.
The photographs capture the scale of the work, from the Channel crossing and miles on European roads to crane-assisted handling on site. It is a clear example of how transport and lifting capability can work together on an international job.
Transport and lifting in one service
Moving large signage internationally requires attention to both the journey and the handling. Load dimensions, protection, vehicle access and lifting requirements all play a part in planning the work.
Our crane-equipped DAF and flatbed trailer brought these elements together. The trailer provided space for the wrapped signage, while the HIAB crane supported handling on site.
Combining haulage and crane capability can reduce the need to coordinate separate transport and lifting providers, helping customers manage an overseas project through one point of contact.
Planning beyond the road journey
International HIAB work involves more than covering the distance. The vehicle and lifting arrangements need to suit the load and the conditions on site.
Understanding the weight and dimensions of each item, its lifting points and the available working space helps determine the right approach. Access, ground conditions and the distance of the lift also need consideration.
For signage, careful handling matters throughout. Large panels can be awkward to manoeuvre, making preparation and suitable lifting arrangements an essential part of the service.
International capability in action
Against a backdrop of Mediterranean coastline and mountain roads, this HP signage project shows Phelan Haulage’s international HIAB capability at work.
The photographs show our vehicle on the road and the crane handling wrapped signage beside commercial premises. Together, they illustrate a service that connects international transport with the practical lifting requirements of the job.
